How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Camper in Ohio? (2026 Guide)

Try pricing out a camper rental online and count how many sites give you an actual number. Most want your email, your dates, and your phone number before they'll whisper a rate — and then a "quote" lands in your inbox two days later with fees nobody mentioned. If all you want to know is whether a camping weekend fits the budget, that's maddening.

So here are our numbers. All of them, no form required. We rent two campers out of Stow, and this is exactly what a trip costs in 2026 — including two worked examples you can steal for your own planning, even if you never rent from us.

The numbers, up front

Two campers, two nightly rates:

• The Sweet Escape — 29-foot 2023 Della Terra, sleeps 4 comfortably, up to 6. $115 a night.
• The Great Escape — 34-foot 2023 Della Terra with bunks, sleeps 6 comfortably, up to 10. $150 a night.

Delivery is the other half of the bill, and it's flat: $250 anywhere within 50 miles of Stow (44224). Past that it's $2.50 a mile out to a 90-mile limit; farther than that, call us at 330-752-8403 and we'll figure something out. That one fee covers towing the camper to your site, leveling it, hooking everything up, pre-cooling the AC, then coming back after checkout to tear down and dump the tanks. The delivery page has the details, but the short version is that you never touch a hitch.

Add-ons, if you want them: kayaks $40, bikes $20, a generator $70 for sites without electric hookups. Those are per rental, not per night.

One number we can't quote: the campsite itself. That gets reserved and paid directly to the campground, and rates vary by park and season. Budget it separately and book it early — the good parks fill up months out.

Scenario one: a couples weekend in the Sweet Escape

Say the two of you want a Friday-to-Sunday escape at Punderson State Park up in Geauga County — a trip we've delivered before, and well inside our flat-rate zone. The math looks like this:

• 2 nights × $115 = $230
• Delivery, setup, and teardown = $250
• Total to us: $480

Add the kayaks if you want to paddle and it's $520, plus whatever the park charges for the site. Friday after work the camper's already leveled, cooled down, and made up with linens. Sunday afternoon you pack a duffel bag and drive home. The tanks are our problem.

Is $480 more than a tent? Sure. It's also a real bed, a bathroom, a working kitchen, and air conditioning in an Ohio August — without owning, towing, or storing a thing.

Scenario two: two families split the Great Escape

This one's the best per-person value we offer. Two families, three nights at a campground like Clay's Park or Jellystone Akron-Canton, both regular delivery runs for us:

• 3 nights × $150 = $450
• Delivery = $250
• Kayaks and bikes = $60
• Total: $760 — $380 per family

The Great Escape sleeps six comfortably and up to ten, so two sets of parents and a pile of kids fit fine. Bunks for them, real beds for you. Under $400 a family for three nights of lodging with the gear included is hard to match with hotel rooms around Akron, especially once you remember a hotel room sleeps four and doesn't come with a campfire.

Both campers arrive stocked: linens and pillows on every bed, a full kitchen with pots and pans and plates, RV-safe toilet paper, basic toiletries, games for the rainy afternoon. Clothes and groceries are your entire packing list.

What we don't charge for

Worth spelling out, since this is where quotes elsewhere tend to balloon:

• No cleaning fee. Leave it reasonably tidy; normal camping mess is expected.
• No per-person fee. Six people in the Sweet Escape pay the same $115 a night as two.
• No setup, teardown, or dump fees. All of it lives inside the flat delivery charge.
• No linen or kitchen-kit charges. The camper shows up stocked.

The only variables are nights, miles past 50, and whichever add-ons you pick. If you can add three numbers, you can price your whole trip before you ever talk to us.

When we're not your cheapest option

An honest note, because it's true: sometimes we aren't the right call.

If you own a truck with a hitch, enjoy towing, and have a garage full of camp gear already, a bare-bones tow-it-yourself rental will probably beat our all-in price. Part of what you pay us for is the delivery and setup you'd happily do yourself.

Same goes for one-night trips. A single night in the Sweet Escape runs $365 with delivery, and the flat fee doesn't shrink just because the trip did. Two nights or more is where the math starts working.
